Spain is a country located southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula.
It is the second largest country in Western Europe after France it covers
an area of about 504,030 km². Since from prehistoric time because of its
location Spain has been the subject to many external influences. From
historic time Spain has played an important part in Europe and also even
in whole world certain places of world was strongly influenced by Spanish
culture and its empire and in latter cases when it was the seat of a global
empire that has left a legacy of 400 million Spanish speakers today. Spain
has eighth largest economy in the world based on nominal GDP. it is a
developed country and also a part of European union and NATO.
During 16th century and first half of the 17th century Spain has become
the strongest kingdom in Europe and leading world power. In 19th century
because of French invasion country became politically unstable. After
suffering from devastating civil war and came under the rule of an authoritarian
government but all of that it leaves an impressive economic surge on country.
In 1978 Spain had restored its democracy in the form of parliamentary
constitutional monarchy. In the period of 16th century and most of the
17th century was an age of discovery with daring explorations by sea and
by land, the opening-up of new trade routes across oceans, conquests and
the beginnings of European colonialism.
Spanish empire was the first empire about which it was said that the sun
never set. For Spain this period was confronted by unrelenting challenges
from all sides. The result was a country forced into ever expanding military
efforts across Europe and in the Mediterranean. Period of 18th century
was good for Spain in this duration country recovers and an increase in
prosperity through much of the empire. In 21st century Spain terminated
its peseta currency and replaced it with the euro, which it shares with
14 other countries in the Eurozone. Spain has also seen strong economic
growth, well above the EU average, but concerns are growing that the extraordinary
property boom and high foreign trade deficits of recent years may bring
this to an end
Spain is a beautiful country but that’s not the only reason making the
